Ganesh Raghu, MD, FACP, FCCP, is Professor of Medicine at the University of Washington in the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine and is Director of the Interstitial Lung Disease/Sarcoid/Pulmonary Fibrosis Program. He is also the Director of the Lung Transplant Program and holds an adjunct appointment in the Department of Laboratory Medicine.
Dr Raghu earned his medical degree from Mysore Medical College in India. After his internship, he went to the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne in Hartlepool, England, for a residency in general medicine and chest medicine. He then moved to Buffalo, NY, where he was chief medical resident at SUNY Buffalo. He came to the University of Washington in 1983 for a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine and also completed a fellowship in lung cell biology here before joining the faculty. Dr Raghu is board-certified in internal medicine and critical care medicine. He has authored over 100 publications in peer-reviewed journals and has served on the editorial boards of several esteemed journals.
